Child Welfare SA – Port Shepstone (CWPS) is a public benefit organization dedicated to protecting and nurturing children within their family units in 22 predominantly rural areas. We labour to promote an awareness of social ills, initiate the relevant remedies and strive to ease economic inequality.

WE OFFER

Adoption services – in compliance with the provisions of section 251 of the Children’s  Act, No. 38 of 2005.

Foster care services – recruitment, screening and training of foster parents and the supervision and monitoring of subsequent foster care placements.

Statutory services – advising on and acting in accordance with legislative governance; Children’s Act, No. 38 of 2005 (court proceedings).

Counselling – risk and psychosocial assessments, therapeutic interventions, family and victim support.

Skills development – empowering individuals to become self-sufficient.

Awareness and educational programs – creating an awareness of the rights of children and the responsibilities of those who care for them.

Social relief – emergency assistance with basic necessities.
